Dwarf Abundances in the Local Region

Earle Luck (Case)

Lithium, carbon, and oxygen abundance data for a sample of nearby dwarfs (216 stars) including samples within 15 parsecs of the Sun as well as a sample of local close giant planet (CGP) hosts and comparison stars are presented.  We have re-determined parameters and derived additional abundances (Z > 10) for the CGP host and comparison samples. From our abundances for elements with Z > 10 we determine the mean metallicity of the CGP hosts to be about 0.18 dex higher than non-hosts. However, when relative abundances ([x/Fe]) are considered we detect no differences in the samples. This statement is also true for lithium, carbon, and oxygen.
