The environments of galaxies as triggers for star formation 'quenching'
Darren Croton (Berkeley)
I will discuss recent theoretical progress towards understanding the
evolution of massive galaxies in a cosmological context, using models
of galaxy formation that include the influence of feedback effects
such as quasar winds and lower luminosity AGN heating. In
particular, I will explore the possible environmental dependencies
for star formation quenching, and discuss the interesting constraints
that these may place on galaxy formation models.
